Menstrex^® is designed with an enteric coating because some people may experience a little aftertaste or burp when taking Menstrual Magic^® or Menstrual Magic Advanced^® Formula.

An enteric coating eliminates any aftertaste or burp by slightly delaying the absorption of the product until it reaches the intestines. Menstrex^® is yet another natural solution for cramps, nausea, bloating, headache, backache, irritability, and other symptoms associated with your monthly menstrual cycle. Menstrual symptoms are caused by natural substances called prostaglandins (PGF2a) that are produced by cells in the uterine lining. At the beginning of the menstrual cycle these prostaglandins cause the muscles of the uterus to contract, reducing blood flow and temporarily cutting off the oxygen supply to the tissues. In some women prostaglandins are produced in excess. When this happens strong but normal uterine contractions become cramps. Women with menstrual cramps have significantly higher levels of prostaglandins than other women do. An independent laboratory study revealed that the essential oil blend in Menstrual Magic^®, Menstrual Magic Advanced^®, and Menstrex^® had a dose dependent positive effect on the inhibition of PGF2a of 77.4±1.8%.
